Introducing Coffee with purpose and our new favorite blend paying respect to our beautiful mountain in the rural hills of Burlington, Ontario.
Nemo is a Latin word that means “no one”. When a post office was opened at the corner of Base Line and Guelph Line no one could think of a name for the community and so Nemo was chosen. The post office and community are gone but since 1971 there has been a conservation area called Mount Nemo that carries on the name.
This Logo was inspired by Mount Nemo and the surrounding forests which are the highway for the nearly extinct Jefferson Salamander which in our case is threatened by Quarry Expansion at Guelph Line & Colling Rd as well as Subdivision builds around Upper King Road in Burlington.
How many Jefferson Salamanders are left in the world?
The total number of Jefferson Salamanders in Ontario is unknown, but COSEWIC (2010) estimated that there may be fewer than 2,500 adults. 2. Sufficient suitable habitat is available to support the species or could be made available through habitat management or restoration.
Proceeds from every bag sold will be donated to help fight keep our beautiful mountain and surrounding eco system which desperately needs our help.
